Have you built something worth talking about?
Every business has a story.
Maybe you started with a small idea after work. Maybe you turned a skill into a full-time business. Maybe you built a company with your family, launched an online store from your bedroom, or spent years growing a local business one customer at a time.
Whatever the story, we want to hear it.
BizTold features real businesses and the people behind them — how they started, what they learned, what went wrong, what worked, and what it really took to build the business they have today.
Real businesses. Real numbers. Real stories.
Why be featured?
A BizTold story is more than a short promotional mention.
We take the time to understand your journey and turn it into a detailed, readable story that gives people a genuine look at your business.
A feature can help you:
Tell your story
Explain how your business started and share the journey behind the company in your own words.
Reach new people
Your story will be published on BizTold and may be shared through our social media channels and other distribution channels as the publication grows.
Give your audience something worth sharing
A detailed story about your journey can be more interesting to share than a traditional advertisement or company announcement.
Build your online presence
Your BizTold profile can provide another useful reference point for people discovering you or your business online.
Share what you’ve learned
Your experience may help someone who is considering starting a business or trying to solve a problem you’ve already faced.
What kind of businesses do we feature?
We are interested in businesses of all shapes and sizes.
You might be:
- A solo entrepreneur
- A small business owner
- A founder
- A freelancer
- A creator
- A family business owner
- An agency owner
- An e-commerce entrepreneur
- A SaaS founder
- A local business owner
- A consultant
- A service provider
- Someone running a business alongside another job
- Someone who turned a side project into a business
We also like unusual stories.
You don’t need to have raised venture capital.
You don’t need thousands of employees.
You don’t need millions in annual revenue.
We’re more interested in the journey than the size of the business.
What makes a great BizTold story?
There is no single formula.
Some of the stories we find most interesting are about:
- Businesses started with very little money
- Founders who changed careers to start a business
- Side hustles that became full-time businesses
- Businesses built by one person
- Family businesses passed from one generation to another
- Businesses that found an unexpected niche
- Entrepreneurs who recovered from a failed idea
- Companies that discovered an unusual way to find customers
- Businesses that grew significantly without outside investment
- Entrepreneurs who built something around a skill or passion
- Businesses operating in industries people don’t usually hear about
The business doesn’t have to be glamorous.
It just needs to have a story.
What will we talk about?
Every interview is different, but we typically explore the parts of the journey that readers are most curious about.
The beginning
How did you get the idea?
Why did you decide to pursue it?
What did you do first?
The first customers
How did you find your first customer?
What did those early customers teach you?
The numbers
How much did it cost to get started?
When did the business begin making money?
How does the business make money today?
If you’re comfortable sharing them, we may discuss revenue, expenses, pricing, customer numbers, margins, growth, or other useful metrics.
The challenges
What was harder than expected?
What mistakes did you make?
What nearly stopped the business?
Growth
How did you get from the first customers to where you are today?
Which marketing channels worked?
Which ones didn’t?
What changed as the business grew?
The lessons
What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?
What would you do differently?
What advice would you give someone starting a similar business?
What’s next?
What are you working on now?
Where do you want to take the business next?
You don’t have to share everything
We understand that businesses have confidential information.
You decide what you’re comfortable discussing.
You are not required to share revenue, profit, expenses, customer numbers, or any other private information.
If there are subjects you’d rather not discuss, simply let us know.
We are interested in honest stories — not in putting business owners in an uncomfortable position.
What happens after you contact us?
1. Tell us about yourself
Send us a short introduction to you and your business.
Tell us what you do, when you started, and what makes your journey interesting.
2. We review your story
We review submissions and select businesses that we believe would make an interesting and useful story for BizTold readers.
We cannot guarantee that every submission will be selected.
3. We arrange the interview
If we’d like to feature your business, we’ll get in touch and arrange the next step.
Depending on the story, we may send written questions by email or arrange a conversation.
4. We write the story
We turn the interview into an original editorial article.
The goal is not to publish a raw transcript.
We want to create a story that is engaging, easy to read, and genuinely useful to someone interested in business.
5. Your story goes live
Once the story is published, we’ll send you the link.
You’re welcome to share it with your audience, customers, team, friends, or professional network.
A note about editorial independence
Being featured on BizTold does not guarantee a particular editorial outcome.
We may edit interviews for clarity, structure, length, grammar, and readability.
We may ask follow-up questions when something needs clarification.
We also reserve the right not to publish an interview if we determine that the story is not a good fit for our publication.
Our goal is to tell interesting and useful business stories — not simply to reproduce promotional copy.
