How BizTold tells business stories

BizTold exists to tell useful, honest, and interesting stories about people building businesses.

Our stories are based on interviews, conversations, research, publicly available information, and information provided by the people we feature.

We aim to present businesses and their owners fairly while giving readers enough context to understand how the business works and how it developed.

Accuracy matters

We make a reasonable effort to ensure that factual claims in our stories are accurate at the time of publication.

When an article includes specific figures, dates, business milestones, or other factual information provided by an interviewee, we may ask for clarification or supporting information where appropriate.

If we discover a significant factual error after publication, we may correct the article.

Readers who identify a possible error are encouraged to contact us.

Interviews are not advertisements

Being featured on BizTold does not automatically mean that we endorse a business, product, service, or individual.

Our interviews are editorial stories.

A business owner may describe their company, products, services, experiences, or opinions during an interview. Those statements represent the interviewee’s perspective unless otherwise indicated.

We may edit interviews for clarity, structure, grammar, length, and readability without changing the intended meaning.

We don’t promise a positive story

An interview is an opportunity to tell a story — not a guarantee of a particular editorial outcome.

We may decide not to publish an interview if, after speaking with someone, we determine that the story is not a good fit for BizTold.

We may also decide that certain claims require additional context or clarification before publication.

Our goal is to create useful stories for readers, not simply promotional material for businesses.

Numbers and business claims

Business owners sometimes share revenue, growth rates, customer counts, profit figures, funding information, or other metrics.

When we publish such information, it is generally based on information provided by the business owner or publicly available sources.

Readers should treat these figures as part of the individual’s story rather than as independently audited financial statements unless explicitly stated otherwise.

We do not guarantee the financial performance of any business featured on BizTold.

Sponsored content

If BizTold publishes sponsored content, advertising, or another commercial partnership, we aim to make the commercial nature of the content clear to readers.

Sponsored content may be labelled using terms such as Sponsored, Advertisement, or Partner Content, depending on the format.

Advertising and commercial partnerships do not automatically determine our independent editorial coverage.

Corrections

If you believe that an article contains a factual error, please contact us.

Include the article URL, the statement you believe is incorrect, and any information that can help us investigate the issue.

We may update articles when corrections are appropriate.

Our goal

We want BizTold to become a place where readers can discover how real businesses actually work.

That means showing the good parts, the difficult parts, the numbers when people are willing to share them, and the lessons that only become obvious after someone has experienced them.

Real businesses. Real numbers. Real stories.
